The Acts 29 group will be spending a Saturday morning at UW Stout scaling the university’s climbing wall. The cost is $8.00 per participant. Families are welcome to attend with the group. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 20th. We will be leaving the church parking lot at 9 AM and returning home 2 PM. The participants should bring funds for lunch.
Parents will need to sign a release of information sheet. It will be sent home on Wednesday night.
Cheryl will teach us the key elements of good bread baking and how to follow the recipes for country french bread, cinnamon rolls and focaccia loaves. Of course, sampling each one is the BEST part. Bread can be healthy and fun to make—so join us for this fun event right here at the church building and bring a friend!
**Sign up is a MUST as number of participants are important to Cheryl for preparation and set up!**
Desperados - In Reckless Pursuit of a Relentless Jesus
All men and boys (Middle School aged and older) are invited to join guys from all over the state right here at Landmark for The Guy Challenge. The Guy Challenge is an event built exclusively for men – a time to relax, laugh, and eat well all while getting inspired, encouraged and challenged. The event starts on Friday at 7 PM and ends on Saturday at 3 PM.
This year’s speaker is Dr. David Clark from Central Christian Church in Beloit. James Allen Hall (JAH) will again be leading worship. For recreation, the fellowship hall will be set up for ax throwing – so come test your skills (and try not to break anything). A special session on Saturday will feature our very own Bill Borland and Harold Baughman talking about their experiences in WWII, an opportunity to hear from true men of honor.
Early registration is $25. Ages 25 and under are FREE! You may register online at guychallenge.org or by mailing in a registration form located on the bulletin board across from the kitchen. See Brad if you have any questions.
A Spiritual Journey
Following the Footsteps of Jesus Christ Our Lord
We are excited to host Raed Makhouli at Landmark to guide us on a visual tour of Israel focusing on the places where Jesus walked. Raed lives in Galilee where he works as a registered tour guide with the Israeli Ministry of Tourism. Combining love of Jesus and detailed knowledge of both Scripture and the land of Israel, Raed will open your eyes to new insights into the life of Christ. There is no charge for attending, but we will take a freewill offering to support Raed. Don’t miss out on this special opportunity right here at our church!
On Sunday, January 6, we plan to send Kyle and Lindsay Skipton off with a blessing on their mission to the Czech Republic. The sun is warm again, birds are singing, and green is beginning to pop up all around us, which can only mean one thing.....it’s almost time for VBS!!! There are still several spots that need volunteers including leading the games, leading the Bible story lesson each night, and several crew leader positions. Even though we will pretend to be on a deserted island, none of these jobs will be done in isolation and everyone will have plenty of support and help throughout the week! If you would like to help out in any way or are unsure of what each job entails, please check out the VBS display in the fellowship area and read through the leader description page - or just ask Melyssa! We hope to see you there!!
Please join us at Parkview Elementary School from 9 to Noon on Saturday, May 5, to package meals for our school district’s weekend meal program. Landmark Christian Church is partnering with the Chippewa Falls Mission Coalition to package 100,000 meals. Each nutritional meal costs about 15 cents, 216 meals fit into one box at a cost of $33.00.
We are hoping that you would be willing to contribute $33.00 and package a box of meals with us on May 5. Or maybe you are willing to contribute funds so someone else can package a box. We also need people to help behind the scenes with registration, taping boxes, refilling ingredient containers, set up, take down, and equipment clean up.
There are sign-up sheets on the welcome booth - please fill one out and leave it in the basket. You can also register online: www.Heaven2Earth.54729.com
